  • Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area

    "Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful scenic park located North of Stony Plain. Bring the family to enjoy a fishing trip, spend a few hours canoeing, mountain biking, or hiking through the park. Bring along a camera or binoculars to enjoy the diverse wildlife that live at Chickakoo. This 480-acre park has over 14 kilometres of scenic trails, which are perfect in the summer for walking or biking and in the winter trails are track set for cross country skiing. Chickakoo Lake Park can be accessed by going north of Highway 16 on Highway 779, head west on Township Road 534, and follow the signs into the park. You can pick up a park brochure at the Parkland County Centre, or you can drop into the park and check out the well marked trails and trail maps located at the entrance to the park."

  • Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary

    The Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary is located a short distance southwest of Edmonton. From Highway 60 (Devon Highway), turn west at Woodbend Rd. (13.2 km south of Highway 16A). Follow Woodbend Rd. 1.6 km to Sanctuary Rd. Turn south onto Sanctuary Rd.and continue for 1.4 km to the parking area on the right.

  • Devonian Botanic Garden Devonian Botanic Garden

    "The University of Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden, established in 1959, is a stunning 190 acre property made up of manicured gardens, mixed woodland vegetation and an extensive nature trail system. Highlights of the Garden include the beautiful Kurimoto Japanese Garden, butterfly and cactus showhouses, ornamental flower gardens, alpine gardens, herb, sensory and healing gardens and more."

  • Wagner Natural Area

    Wagner Natural Area is approximately 1.6 km west of the junction of Yellowhead Highway 16 and Highway 44. Turn south on to Atim Road (Rge. Rd. 270), then east on to the service road. Follow the service road east to the gravel parking area and the entrance gate to the Natural Area.
